Guide to
Detoxing
Detoxing your body will leave you feeling better about
yourself both from the inside and outside. It sounds so cliche
but detoxing your body can make you physically feel better. And
if you feel better inside you will look better and have more
confidence on the outside.
Detox basically refers to
cleansing your body. The purpose of detoxing is to cleanse the
blood in your body with the removal of toxins that can make
your body function in less than optimal mode. The liver is
where your body processes the most toxins that occur within the
blood. The body also eliminates toxins through the kidneys,
intestines, lungs, lymph and skin.
A good detoxing program can help to improve the body’s
natural cleaning process. If you eat healthy or perhaps fast it
will help the organs process all the toxins from the system and
give the organs a fresh and clean start. Detoxing
stimulates the liver to drive toxins from the body, promote
elimination through the intestines, kidneys and skin, and
improve circulation of the blood. For a review of the

If you are interested in detoxing to feel rejuvenated and
refreshed like never before, there are a few different steps
you are going to want to take. There are more severe detoxify
methods, but here are a few simple tips to help get you
started.
You should start by increasing the amount of fiber in your
diet. Eating more fiber – as long as you increase your water
intake as well – will help to flush your body of toxins. Beets,
radishes, artichokes, cabbage, broccoli, chlorella, and seaweed
are all excellent detoxify foods.
You also want to cleanse and protect the liver by taking
herbs such as dandelion root and milk thistle. Green tea is
also productive for this, and you can either drink green tea
hot or cold, or take green tea supplements.
Taking Vitamin C will also be helpful to you here, as this
will help your body to produce more glutathione, which is a
liver compound that helps to drive away toxins. Stressing is
also very hard on your body, so you should try to relax as much
as you can. You can do this by emphasizing positive emotions,
and practicing relaxing exercises such as yoga and pilates.
Meditation is something that can help energize you spirit
and mind. It seems very new age but meditation is especially
beneficial for this and will help to relax your body and mind.
You may also want to practice hydrotherapy by taking a very hot
shower for five minutes, allowing the warm water to soothe your
body and caress your skin. The point is that your body need a
break from stress and needs rest to function properly in
getting rid of toxins from the body.
Virtually anyone can detox their body. If you are pregnant,
nursing, or suffering from a degenerative disease such as
cancer then you will not want to begin a detoxing regimen.
Otherwise you should be okay to go through with a proper
detoxing program, just make sure that you speak to your doctor
about it first as they will be able to determine whether you
have chosen the right detoxing program for you and ultimately
whether you are going to be putting yourself at risk.
